Applikationsvirtualisierung
mit Microsoft SoftGrid 4 (Book, German)
When you start using SoftGrid and you like to spend your holidays
learning German and reading books, this one is a good (and currently
the only one) choice. It covers topics like Installation, Management,
Sequencing and best Practises. (Well, I haven't red it, but I have seen
it several times and it left a good impression)
SoftGrid Wiki
A Wiki base source for lots of information around SoftGrid including HowTo guides, Links.
Quite new but worth watching
SoftGrid Item Naming
Confused what value the Sequencer is asking you for or what conventions an SFT file name should follow?
This file shows you Best Practices for Naming things in Softgrid - and to identify, where they defined in the product
SoftGrid Troubleshooting QuickGuide
This guide should help you to avoid some of the most common reasons why SoftGrid Applications may fail. SoftGridGuru.com
SoftGridGuru is one of the most valuable forums related to Softgrid. It
started about early 2003 and it seems that some of the subsribers
really have insider informations. Registering there is recommended - at
least to figure out which posts you haven't read yet ;-)
DSGUG

German Deutsche SoftGrid User Group is online since mid 2006. (Putting
the info about the book and this info together its easy to guess what
language I speak)

SoftGrid
4.1 SP1
Service Pack 1 for SoftGrid 4.1 provides for instance Windows
Side-by-Side (SxS) support. In earlier SoftGrid versions, this SxS
requiered some applications to have certain runtime elements locally
installed on the client
SoftGrid
4.2
SoftGrid 4.2 is very similar to 4.1 SP1 and adds official Vista support to Windows Desktop Clients.
SoftGrid Packages
InstantApps.net
InstantApps contains a bunch of pre sequenced applications that can be
deployed using SoftGrid almost instantly.
Before importing the packages into your SoftGrid deployment you should
change the value for SOFTGRIDSERVER in each OSD according to your
environment and you should place the files into the right subfolder
below the Content folder
SoftGrid Tools
SFT
Explorer
SFT Explorer allows you to open an SFT file and view its Virtual file
System, Registry and Services. It also allows you to extract data.
PreLoad Script
Kalle Saunamaki also provides a script that can be used to fully load
all applications into the client's cache file.
XSD
Schema for OSD
Tim Mangan provides an XSD Schema for XML Editors to open OSD files.
Funny to see old entries like "Age Group" or "Processor" that refer
"back to the old days". Sad to see that some entries aren't used by
default, like "Publisher" or "Contact" ...
MSI
to SFT Migration Tool (Registration required)
Login Consultants developed a tools that, basically, "scripts" the
Sequencer to perform an automated monitoring of an MSI install and to
build an SoftGrid package. It is not a "conversion" like when you open
an RichText Document and safe it in MS Word format but it is more like
a Silent Sequencing.
SoftGrid
Client ADM File (Registration required)
An ADM template that allows to use GPOs to configure SoftGrid Clients
in larger organizations
OSD
Editor (Registration required)
Bored of breaking OSD files by making syntax mistakes or saving them as
UTF-8? LoginConsultant's OSD Editor might help you here

to be no easy way to Fill & Save instead)
